In full disclosure, I have never been that big of a Christian Bale fan. I loved the original Batman, but that was due to the story – not Mr. Bale. I was totally creeped out by his role in American Psycho. I think this is probably the closest thing to his real personality than any other role he has ever played. I believe his ego is larger than the state of Texas.
That being said – they should mail the Academy Award to Christian Bale for his role in The Fighter today! When you go to this great film you will come to this realization within the first 3 minutes. You do not have to be a fan of Christian Bale the person to appreciate one of the greatest acting performances in the past several years.
