Netflix Gift Card

      Walmart does not carry Netflix gift cards. Target might. But a word to the wise, you are REQUIRED to use a credit card or branded debit card to secure your account. They absolutely will not accept prepaid debit even if it is Visa or Mastercard. The only work around is to open a paypal account, use a green dot card to issue funds instantly. After you secure the account you should be able to use gift cards. Even if you only plan to stream content and elect not to receive DVDs in the mail, these things are required. Netflix did inform me that they are working on changing this for streaming only customers.

      Many subscription based websites, like netflix will not accept gift cards, assuming your using a MasterCard (Credit Card) style giftcard. This is also the case at gas stations.

      It has to do with the way the cards work.
      Because of the fixed limit on the cards, you cant enroll reoccurring charges on subscription style plan.

      I would try buying a gift code at the netflix site with the card. Click the “give netflix” button, buy yourself prepaid time, instead of a subscription, and use the code instead fo giving it. You should be able to buy prepaid time, as it is not a reoccurring charge.

      Netflix certainly accepts Visa, and eBay users primarily use PayPal to pay for items, which also accepts Visa!

      Be cautious. If you have to fill out something with your name and address or any other personal information, and the URL for that form doesn’t begin https: (the “s” is what HAS to be there after the http), then it’s not a secure site. Without that letter “s” the site isn’t SSL certified, and your information isn’t safe. I’ve noticed this with offers for gifts for filling out surveys that I’ve received. I don’t see that “s” I close that page. Never give out any personal information on any site if you don’t see https in the URL. It’s rare that people are really giving away expensive gifts for nothing… or for filling out a survey.

      In almost all cases gift cards issued by a bank (visa, amex, mastercard, discover) are not good for recurring charges.

      If you have one, you might consider calling and prepaying the subscription several months out and then placing a regular card down for the future charges. I know Netflix allows you to purchase a 12 month gift subscription and a Visa card would work for that transaction, just be sure to register the card so you have a billing address for the checkout process.

      I don’t think netflix gift cards are available at Walmart or Target. They ARE available at Best Buy and it is highly probably you have a Best Buy nearby.

      I don’t think you can set up Netflix to only run on one computer. As long as you are the only one who knows the password than no one can use your account, though…

      Pretty much all movies and TV shows are available on Netflix.

      P.S. Sears is coming out with a service similar to Netflix. You may want to look into it. It’s called Alphaline.

      I think that’s a good gift. BUT, does he have an Xbox 360? If he does, Netflix is actually coming exclusively onto the 360, so getting him a subscription to Netflix while he has a 360 wouldn’t be very good, because you have all the movies that Netflix offers on the 360.     I got an e-mail that says I can get a 00 Wal Mart gift card?
    I know it’s a spam, but when you click on the e-mail, it asks you to fill out a survey and complete 2 offers. Two of the offers are for Free Trials from Blockbuster video online and Netflix movie rental online, which are both reputable companies. What if I were to sign up for the free trial at Blockbuster video and Netflix and than immediately cancel those free trials. That way it will still register with the Wal Mart e-mail saying that I have completed the 2 offers and than my wal mart gift card will be on the way to me. Will this idea work? By putting down my credit card information on Blockbuster and Netflix for the free trial, will the company that sent me the Wal Mart gift card e-mail have access to that information? I wouldn’t think so because Blockbuster and Netflix are both secure websites. I think the only thing that would happen is I would keep on getting junk e-mail’s for more offers.       You admitted yourself that it was spam. It could very well be a spam that is a scam. You do not know it is a real E-mail from WalMart, it could be a total fake, including the offers from Netflix and Blockbuster.
      Sure, you can do what you suggest, but personally, I would run for the hills. I NEVER give out my credit card number to anyone for any reason, unless I KNOW that the site is safe and trustworthy. You do not know this about this message – alarm, Alarm, ALARM!!!!!

      The most important distinction is between gift cards issued by retailers and those issued by banks.

      In the industry, the retailers’ cards are called “closed-loop” cards — they can be used only in a single store or group of stores. “Open-loop” cards carry the logo American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa and can be used wherever those cards are accepted.

      As far as using it to establish a Netflix account, it depends on whether Netflix lets you start one with a debit card. That’s what you have — a special form of debit card, not a credit card. If Netflix demands a credit card to open an account, you won’t be able to use it there.

      As far as what happens when the money runs out, your transaction will be declined. Visa gift cards are not reloadable.

      You would have to have a person who is 18 or older sign up for you. You can’t just lie about your age because they will require a credit card for payment and they will check the age of the card holder.

      A gift card may be a different story however. I don’t believe they require a credit card to use a gift card. But you would need someone willing to let you use their name for the account and frankly, I wouldn’t let someone put my name on their netflix account unless I really trusted them.

    Free 0 gift card?
    I don’t do these, but my friend did one of these offers where she accepted 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 platinum offers. She put her credit card number in those, they were things like Netflix and stuff like that. Is she gonna get ripped off, or will they really give her an item in the mail now?

      Okay, this is how it works. You have to select at least 3 offers from the sponsors of the offer-er. The sponsor pay a parent company to get new customers and this is the way they do it. It probably is legit, but the problem is it takes forever and you also have to make purchases which usually include signing up for multiple offers. They do this with merchandise and other things besides gift cards.

    would i need a credit card for it? would a debit card work? I had credit card once but i got screwed and had to pay and pay and then finally got it shut off, so im not getting another credit card. Are there any gift card type things that i can buy from walmart or someplace?

    I have a question about netflix?
    I signed up for the netflix 2 week free trial yesterday, 3 dvds at a time, with a visa gift card, they took out about .00 from my gift card which is in pending transaction. It says if you cancel before the two weeks you won’t be billed my last day is on the 9th of February. Ok here’s my question if I cancel my free trial membership the next day will that .00 go back on my card as available credit? Just wondering because i have read some stuff about neflix.

      Don’t know why thy took out when for the 3 out at a time is 16.99. But they should refund the cash if you cancel before that.

    Netflix pre authorization charge?
    I was wondering if anyone has had any past experiment with this,i tried netflix and signed up with a regions gift card fist off the site said that would do a pre authorization charge of 1 dollar but they took 9.98 the cost of the plan.How long does it take for those pre authorization charge charges to go away i signed up on the 26 and as of today the charge is still there but it hasn’t posted.

    tonight my mom got an email saying that it expired in a month but it hadnt been used yet. i stuck to my story and insisted that i gave it to him so my dad suggested emailing it to his parents cause we have their email address..WHAT DO I DO!? i dont wanna come clean cause theyll kill me for lying but if i tell my ex about what happened itll be awkward and embarassing and shitt.
