whatever you want to do, I am getting and I think you should be aware of some basics and It should also mentioned in the manuals if you carefully got that. For your kind information,The TV itself doesn’t accept Netflix, you should use another way to do what you need. If you are going for another way then you need to take a move on the BluRay players that can help you to stream the movies that’s what you wanted to do.

  1. QUESTION:
How is Netflix for broadcast programs like wrestling, news, & weather?

I don’t have netflix anymore, but when I did have it, it didn’t have news or weather. It had shows and movies. I am sure there were older wresting video’s. Netflix is more for movies and shows.

  2. QUESTION:
Any news of Netflix on Xbox or PS3?
I was just at the Netflix website earlier and noticed that there set box is already on sale online for , this is a pretty good deal but this was in the FAQ section-

Why aren’t all the movies and TV episodes I can get on DVD available to stream to my TV?

While movie studios and television networks have great flexibility in what they offer on DVD, there are many limits to what they can provide for instant watching due to long standing contractual obligations.
Our library of instant watching choices is growing every month, but there will be much greater selection available on DVD for a long time to come.

Not very encouraging, but at least they are being honest. So does anyone have news on when Netflix might stream through PS3?

  6. QUESTION:
News: 3DS will have Netflix. How about its resolution?
Will we be able to watch our movies using the entire screen (not halved like when it’s displaying 3D content)? I’m not looking forward to watching movies on a low-res screen.

    • ANSWER:
Nobody knows the details yet. I don’t know if turning off the 3D will actually increase resolution in games or anything else. I’ve read somewhere that turning off 3D makes games appear more jagged which sounds like resolution stays the same.

400×240 should be enough for a 3.5″ screen anyway.

  7. QUESTION:

  10. QUESTION:
Whatever happened to the partnership between Netflix and Tivo? Is it still on?
Will we Netflix subscribers that own Tivos still be able some day to download our Netflix movies directly to our Tivos? The partnership was announced in Newsweek back in September, but there really isn’t any further news since then.

    • ANSWER:
I don’t beleive it is. The problem is, why Netflix is legally allowed to rent its collective over the net, many of the IPTV licenses are taken up by other parties such as Starz and Universal which each have their own online distrobution system.

Tho Tivo has recently partnered with Yahoo to provide IPTV services as well as integrated net services such as a Fandango and weather.

Netflix is also working on their own system tho its anyone’s guess how that will work. I don’t think Tivo and Netflix have any plans to work together at this point.

  11. QUESTION:
Can i watch the news live on the internet without having cable?
My wife and I have been wanting to reduce our bill from comcast for a lil while now. And I thought why not get rid of the cable box and just do high speed internet. I can get a roku box to stream all kinds of content and I do use netflix a lot on the ps3. The only thing my wife wants to be able to do is watch the news live. We watch WMUR which is our local news here in new hampshire

    • ANSWER:
Well, I don’t know about watching the local news over the internet, there’s nothing stopping you from getting an old-school antenna and connecting that to your TV. You’ll even get your local HD channels too. Just don’t be fooled – there is no such thing as a “HD antenna”. An antenna is an antenna is an antenna. This means the old pair of “rabbit ears” from yesterday will pickup today’s HD channels. Just make sure your TV has the newer TV tuner in it (all TVs – HD or not – made within the past few years have them) or you’ll need a digital tuner box ()

Radio stations have been simultaneously broadcasting over the air, and over the internet for years now. I can only assume it’s just a matter of time for local TV stations to do the same thing… But for now, try the antenna thing.

  12. QUESTION:
Movies disappeared from my Netflix queue?
I just signed up for Netflix today around 5 PM EST, and I had 6 movies in my queue. Now all of a sudden they all disappeared! I tried adding my movies back, but its not working. Did they all ship? Please help! Also, I dont care about these comments:

Good news! I found movie leaks at some website
Netflix sucks. Why do you want it?

    • ANSWER:
might be a glitch with the website. when a movie is shipped, it leaves it in your queue, but it goes into a little section at the top of your queue that says it shipped. if you signed up for the unlimited plan, where you can receive as many movies as you want per month but only have one out at a time, they would not have all shipped at once. see if they’re there in your queue tomorrow. if not, i’d try contacting netflix.

  13. QUESTION:
Best Buy and NetFlix – no working hours – how does it work?
Best Buy and NetFlix new management technique – No Working Hours – how does it work?

I saw in a couple of news article about Best Buy and NetFlix new management technique where employees do not have set time of work but all they have to do is completing the job on time. So my question is, how do they decide how much job need to be completed if there is no set of working hours?

    • ANSWER:
they pay by the work load
as long as it is done before the alotted time they pay the employee
if it is late, the pay is reduced
for example, a standard work load(say, 30 dvds processed) is
a user does 5 work loads before 3 pm, they earn , if they do them by 5 pm, they only make
however some people can do ALOT more work in the same time as another person, so they make more money in the same time because they could complete 10 work loads, make sence?

just looked more into it, you evedently can leave and come as you please as long as the work gets done…even sleep on the job if you need to…, hm, i should get a job at best buy…

  14. QUESTION:
When will all of Netflix’s movies be viewable online?
I was just wondering when will netflix have all of their movies viewable online. I know they have 12,000 or so movies online now, but are they ever going to put them all online? What about new releases? I was just wondering because of the new XBox 360 news.

    • ANSWER:
They never will. They still need to keep the mailing service as their priority. The online movies (or instant) section is more a bonus, than a definition of the service itself. Luckily the “instant” films section changes every month.

  15. QUESTION:
can you watch news channels on a ps3 like you can with an xbox?
on my 360 i can watch msnbc news and it shows up as a tab like netflix does, can you do this with a play station three as well?
ok so how do i do this? do i need to go to the playstation network and it will have it there?

oh ok so it will show as a clickable tab in the playstation network just like it does with xbox360?

    • ANSWER:
Probably not in the same way, but yes, you can. Most countries get 2 channels, and not only can you watch news, you can also watch other shows. There is also life with playstation, which gives latest news from around the globe, as well as many other things.

If you cant see them on the menu anywhere (which you cant touch though since psn is down) then i’m guessing your ps3 has an old update installed.

  17. QUESTION:
Anyone here tired of those NETFLIX commercials on Yahoo Video?
When ever I want to see an interesting Video on Yahoo news, I always end up with that annoying netflix commercial with the chubby girl in purple before the video starts. I sometimes don’t even make it to the end of the commercial and just go to another source to view the video.

Im not trying to be mean or anything. If I was, I would have said with the chubby Indian girl in purple. I don’t mind NETFlX commercials, I just think that they should at least try a variety of different commercials.

    • ANSWER:
I certainly agree. All the time when I see those videos it’s that same one over and over and over. I understand that they’re trying to promote their commercial. but honestly…UPGRADE. Though i think netflix is and interesting idea. You know to be able to watch videos on your laptop. But i agree. They should shorten their commercials and have a wide variety of unique commercials for their product.

It was on the front page of yahoo search where it highlights several articles daily. About 3 to 5 days ago. The article was about this family who unplugged their cable and was getting TV for free or cheap through their Internet and Netflix. I can’t find it anywhere!!

  22. QUESTION:
What do you think…I dropped cable TV for the max Netflix has to offer…?
I would like to find out what you think of this and if this might move you to do the same.

I have had my cable paid for by my apartment complex for the last 8 years until now…It was okay while it was “free”, but now that I would have to pay 40 to 50 dollars for expanded basic cable (about 50 channels with often just a bunch of worthless programs on), I have rethought the whole thing…here are my thoughts on this thing:

Cable is overpriced and it seems that they think they can charge whatever they want for their services, and like I mentioned before the programing is not all that impressive. I do like for the most part Fox news, Discovery, History, and getting to watch my Hockey on one of the sports channels, as well as the occasional well written show. I want to send them a message.

Internet will supply news. Netflix will supply 8 movies at a time for only 30 more than what I am paying for now…and I choose when and what I watch…Sounds dang good to me!

    • ANSWER:
      right on

  23. QUESTION:

Article aside, what’s your opinion on the Netflix price hike? Is it justified or not? Sure companies need to make money but are their legit?

    • ANSWER:
for all the streaming you want is a GREAT DEAL.
to get a dvds sent to your front door is a GREAT DEAL.

for both. How many dvds can you BUY for ? How many movies can you get from redbox for ? From Blockbuster? How many movies can you see the theatre for ? What kind of cable package can you get for ?

Yeah, its a price increase at a time when people are still pinching pennies. But this is still a REALLY GREAT DEAL relative to every other form of tv and movie availablility. This won’t affect thier membership in any noticeable way.

  24. QUESTION:
Has anyone had much success cancelling their tv service and using a ROKU with hulu.com and netflix.com?
I pay 9/mo for Directv and I am sick to my stomach over it as we watch the same ol’stuff- no live sports and we don’t watch the news.

    Any help is appreciated!

    • ANSWER:
We have dumped the cable and we use the Net and other viewing venues as well. later on this year you will see the convergence of many of the Media Players and Network Media Tanks as soon as they find a way to get a few dollars for ads then it will bust open. Look at all the players and what they are offering so yes we have as well a 119,000 Comcast dumped in the third quarter they are waiting for the numbers for the forth and that will tip the tide even more.

  25. QUESTION:
    Is it worth getting netflix?
I’m currently on the free month trial and I’ve had a good experience overall except I hate the wait. I’m planning on switching to the 2 or maybe even the 3 dvd plan but I’m afraid of throttling (frequent buyers get the movies later). I just canceled my TV plan since it was too expensive so i’m depending o netflix and the internet for my entertainment needs.

Also, with Netflix in the news; does it mean that all the movies will be online if they stop using actual dvds? Or will they just quit using physical dvds and only have the few stuff online?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
We do the same exact thing. I dont know if its really worth it though.

  26. QUESTION:
after yahoos recent upgrades the news videos will not load and play. running win 2000 & using firefox browser?
when i click on a news video the screen loads, the netflix ad plays but the news clip will not play. they were playing fine before the upgrade. when i click on “settings” at the top of the page the new screen plays on a small video screen in the upper left corner of the page. the other the “next” videos do not load automaticaly. Help! don’t know if it is the browser or windows 2k problem. thanks if you can help

    • ANSWER:
the first thing i would do is see if the video works in Internet Explorer…if it does work, then I would assume the problem lies with your plug in. Firefox has plug ins (i’ll post the link)…Re install the plug ins like Java and Media Player…..

if you still can’t get it to work, i would have to contact yahoo help..they’re usually good at getting back with you with some automatic resolutions…good luck.

  27. QUESTION:
Do you love yahoo news commercials?
I have seen the “don’t you have Netflix yet commercial?” like 100 times but I still love all the overweight actors and their annoying little speeches. Does anyone else just turn down the sound and minimize the box for 31 seconds? I do. Oh also, does anyone else find that they DON’T watch some of yahoo’s “news” videos because they don’t want to be advertised to? Doesn’t yahoo make enough money without having to do this? I like yahoo. just not having to watch retarded commercials.

    • ANSWER:
Yeah it does, cool avatar dude

  28. QUESTION:
Why is Yahoo News’ volume out of control?
Why is it that advertisers such as Netflix insist that Yahoo News set their commercials’ volume to an insane level? Yahoo News is already very unwieldy under the digital rights managment and user-defiance of Adobe. If I set my volume to hear the news bits, I am deafened when the commercial breaks interject. If I set the volume to a reasonable level for the commercials, I strain to hear the news (more like deaf to the sound). Do you Yahoo News guys really have to torture us with these tactics? I’m already forced to watch your commercials, please stop trying to make this into a “Clockwork Orange” watching experience. Chad

lol! I couldn’t have said it better myself. :o )

  29. QUESTION:
Nearly 800,000 homes are cutting their TV cord in favor of Netflix or the Web. Are you one of them?

  30. QUESTION:
how long will that darn netflix ad be on yahoo?
every time i try to watch a news clip all i see is netflix ad

    • ANSWER:
      It sucks, but probably forever.
Sorry guys pop-up and ad stoppers don’t work on everything, especially when it’s not a pop-up it’s just some loud or expanding ad on the page. Nothing like reading a story on your homepage and having some tiny ad expand across your entire screen, that’s not a pop-up it’s in the homepage, It drives me crazy too. Or when you want to watch a yahoo video and you have to watch some 30sec ad for Scottrade. I really don’t get it, we pay all this money for service and when a free site or service pops up these companies all say the same thing,
“It may be free but you’ll have to watch commercials all the time because that’s how they make money.”
Well here’s a pay service and we have to endure all the stupid ads still so what’s the difference?

  31. QUESTION:
Do you find the ads before every news video irritating? I do.?
I rarely watch news videos anymore because of the ads. I will walk two miles to a video store before I would ever use NetFlix

    • ANSWER:
I rarely watch them anymore either. They’re annoying.

I also hate those ads that run above some websites that use sound to get your attention. Like the really annoyingly loud female voice that shouts, “Congratulations, you’ve been selected to receive a free Ipod Nano.” The fly buzzing really gets on my nerves too.

  32. QUESTION:
Do the ads keep you from watching Yahoo! News Video?
They do me. I don’t have time to watch a minute or so of a NetFlix ad – I’m already a Netflix subscriber – to watch a minute or so of news. Sorry, Yahoo!, not going there anymore.

    • ANSWER:
yes, unless the story is absulutely fascinating, I don’t sit through he ads. The worst part is that it plays the same ad for each video

What’s the best option for me that’s cheapest?

  40. QUESTION:
What are ways to use copyright material legally?
So a group of film students and I are making documentaries on the different film studios. None of the film studios have anything to do with these documentaries. We would like to sell the film to Netflix, when it is complete. We would also like to use stock footage of different films the studios have done and news archives. Is it legal to sell are film when it is complete? What are ways we could legally use this copyrighted material?

I know you can use copyrighted material in a parody and for educational purposes. What are the other ways you can use copyrighted material?

Please add in anything els you think we should know before we get are selfs stuck in a lawsuit.

    Thank You!

    • ANSWER:
Look into ‘fair use’. There are situations where you can, without license, use copyrighted materials.

      http://www.centerforsocialmedia.org/resources/fair_use/

You can legaly use short clips of films so long as they dont make up your entire film. For example, a short 5 second clip followed by commentary about it is fine. But using 100 short 5 seconds clips to make a mini movie would be illegal.

I believe, the clip must be so short that your film could be fine without the clip, meaning, the clip is not essential to your film.

  41. QUESTION:
how to get my network info?
I bought a Samsung Blu-ray and Samsung TV and need the network info in order to set up a wireless connection. That way I can get Netflix or the news, weather, etc via my TV. But it asked for the IP address, DHCP,IP Subnet Mask, Etc. I found that info once before but can’t seem to find it now. How can I get all of that info?

    • ANSWER:
Here’s the problem – you don’t need your computer networking setup. you need your wireless network setup. That’s harder to get.

You need three bits of information.

      1) SSID (Service Set Identifier). This is your WiFi network name. It may be a default name like LinkSys123, or something custom like FredsWiFiNet. Look at your Access Point or Gateway documentation. If it’s a 2Wire, for example, and has the default, it will be 2Wire followed by something.

      2) Encryption/Protection type. This can be WEP (weak), WPA (better), or WPA2/AES (best). Or none (which is just asking for trouble). Again, look at the documentation.

      3) WEP key or WPA passphrase/PSK (Pre Shared Key). Again, look at the documentation.

From your computer browser, you can go to the address of your gateway, which is probably your WiFi access point/gateway. Okay, mine isn’t. But you probably don’t have a boatload of Cisco and ProCurve network stuff in your network. The IP address will probably be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, but you can find it with the ipconfig command mentioned previously. The default gateway address will be your AP, most likely. Look at the documentation (back to that – if you don’t have it, go to the AP manufacturer’s website and look it up in their support and documentation section). You’ll need a username and password. The username is often admin or administrator, and the password will depend on the equipment and whether it was reset.

      So the short list:

Get the SSID, security type, and password. Probably in the manual unless you or someone changed them.

In your Blu-Ray player (and I probably have the same one), go to setup->network->wireless. Look for your network – it is probably broadcast. Select the security type that’s in use, then enter the password and Hey! Presto!

  44. QUESTION:
What is a good website for watching live TV online, in decent quality?
It doesn’t have to be free. I am looking for a TV replacement, since I do not have a TV antenna, nor a tuner.

I decided to get rid of cable and watch NetFlix, Hulu, etc instead, but I realized that I still want to watch live TV for news or when I’m really bored.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!
It does not have to be a website — could also be software.

  47. QUESTION:
Are you signed up for class-action settlement against Netflix?
I am. It’s the principle of it. They gave us crappy service. Now they get to pay.

    • ANSWER:
I received an email for it several months ago. I signed up, but I haven’t received anything on it, and I don’t really care. I’ve never had a problem with the service.

  48. QUESTION:
Do you think Marijuana will be legal in the near future?
I was watching this documentary last night on Netflix called “The Union” about Marijuana and how it is one of the best crops in the world but it was made illegal because people just believe the black and white and the bs that the news throws at us. It also stated that there is not any serious harm from pot. And no one has died directly due to the effects of marijuana.
So i just want to hear some opinions.

    • ANSWER:
I’m glad you said opinion. I hope it is. It is much safer than cigarettes and alcohol. It does not kill brain cells. It is an anticarcinogen and is definitely beneficial with medical issues. It should be legalized saying to use responsibly, like alcohol. One thing to eliminate problems with drivers is just put a breathalizer that can actually check if pot was used recently (not check for THC cause it stays in the system for a while). Believe me, I’ve done my research on marijuana because I’m not some idiot who just listens to the news or whatever. I have never even smoked pot, which might change someone’s opinion if they are reading this. It should be legalized.

I’ve checked out FUNimation’s website but I can’t find any news about Tsubasa. Are they finished with it? I only recently found Shunraiki on the internet so I’m wondering if they just didn’t know about it. I want to buy it on Ebay from Japan but if it’s going to be released in English on Netflix I might not.

    • ANSWER:
Since FUNimation has the license for Tsubasa, most likely, but probably won’t be released anytime soon.

First of all, some blog, your opinion, or your local news site is not reputable sources. Please provide a link to the valid source of your information. It would be cool if Hulu launched an iPad app for streaming, like Netflix. I would pay up to, or maybe over, for the app.
