     XBOX 360, they already have netflix on it with a bunch of movies, and you can instant que any movie instantly on it with just clicking add to instant que. Plus, its got a bunch of other cool apps for free and in my opinion its the best gaming system.

   I have a 4g modem and everything else is working fine execept for streaming on Netflix. I get a lot of unexpected pauses and buffering problems. I tried rebooting the model, unstalling the Netflix app, updating it. It seems that Netflix don’t have the answer. I know there are a view people out there having this problem. Does anyone have a answer please. I can’t enjoy something if it keeps buffering all the time!

     Because it’s a wireless modem. Personally, I despise wireless ISP service, mainly because it can never keep a proper, stable connection, especially enough to properly stream media such as through Netflix. Unfortunately, we currently have wireless service and it’s bad…just…bad…yah…

    Can I deliberately lower my Netflix streaming quality? I have slow internet and can’t stream Netflix movies. Can I lower the resolution so that I can stream movies?

    • ANSWER:
      Netflix streaming adjust, according to your internet speed. I have high speed internet, sometimes during a movie, I get a message Netflix is readjusting my internet speed, because it’s too slow. Also, another time I had rebuffering issue, come to find out, cable wire was bad.

      Resetting the modem, usually helps streaming movies to play properly.

      Various factors, can cause movies to rebuffer, freeze up or not play at all, especially on weekends/holiday’s, due to server congestion. Netflix customer service can help you.

    Why is there no audio with my netflix streaming movies?
    I have pc’s with Vista, cable internet service, and no other audio problems. When I renewed my netflix subscription and tried to watch the streaming movies, the video was great but there was no audio on either of my pc’s. What could be causing this?

      Yes you can watch netflix and youtube on netbooks. The screen will be small but it’s definitely a good function for those computers. Any netbook should have the requirements to run both: wireless internet card and Windows XP or higher.

    I am in the Seattle Tacoma area with a ps3 and clearwire My d/l is 3mbs according to speedtest. I have noticed that at peak times my netflix streaming is very slow. Watch for 5 minutes then load for 5 etc. Anyone else having trouble?

      i alos have 16mbps and have properly split my cable to allow for the best internet experince.

      Using a single disk on multiple systems won’t work, but if you have two the first one won’t be deactivated.

    Should I pay for an Xbox Live Gold membership with Netflix streaming?
    I honestly don’t care about video games, I only want Netflix streaming on my xbox. The thing is that I have to pay for an Xbox Live gold membership which costs /year and then I have to pay .99/month for the netflix service. Is it worth it?
    I should have gotten a blu-ray player with netflix streaming it would have been much cheaper.

      why do u have an xbox then? i have netflix and in my opinion most of the netflix streaming movies arent good. if you can, hook up ur comp to the tv n stream off the comp. i dont think it would be worth it to buy xbox live for streaming of netflix.

    What is Netflix Streaming like today?
    I’m planning on getting Netflix and was wondering how their streaming to PCs is now? I used it once in the past (around the time when it first came out) and it was HORRIBLE…the picture was so blurry I couldn’t tell what was happening, at all! So my question is if it was my computer or if it was Netflix? If it was my computer, how could I potentially fix it?

    My computer is going on 4 years old, it is a Toshiba.

      We watch stuff on Netflix streaming several times a week. Just now we’re going through the first 3 seasons of 30 Rock.

      When I watch by myself I watch on my computer. But we also have a box made by Roku that shows streaming movies on our TV. This is a 60″ TV so we can tell how good the resolution is. Both the computer and the Roku box are connected through our home WiFi system (wireless).

      I am just amazed at how good the streaming works and how good it looks on both the computer and the big-screen TV. I expected low resolution, something that was designed to look good on the small screen but would look like hell on a big screen. Like YouTube. But the movies we get on the TV look as good as what we get from the satellite! Not as good as HD or a Blu-Ray player, but better than regular old-fashioned TV.

      A 4-year-old computer should be able to do it, running Vista or XP or Windows 2000. And you have to have DSL or some other form of high speed Internet.

      My netflix streams fast and I haven’t had any buffering issues. And if you need to stop watching a movie or show it will remember where you left off and stream from the point you stopped it. I would say I am happy with my subscription. I believe they have a trial subscription you can do to test it out. Happy watching! =)

    How can I improve the quality of Netflix streaming on my HDTV?
    I have connected my laptop and HDTV with an HDMI to HDMI cable. As a computer monitor, it looks awesome, but when I stream from Netflix it is not HighDef. The quality suffers. Proven suggestions only, please.

      Do you watch full screen on the monitor? How big is that monitor?

      As you scale up, all artifacts blow up!! I suspect you just need a faster Internet connection so that you can get a higher quality stream.

      I had a problem like that, when i upgraded to an internet connection with a higher download speed it went away.

      whats your up load and download speeds? if you have lower end ones i would bet that’s the problem.

    Will Netflix streaming work fine with a DSL connection?
    I can stream Hulu and Youtube fine with a DSL connection, however, I am concerned that if I decided to start using Netflix I won’t be able to stream High-Def as well as just standard-def youtube or hulu.

    • ANSWER:
      As long as your DSL connection can maintain 1.5mbps of downlink Internet speed, you should be fine. If HD is certain, then the buffering may take a longer time. If you cannot get HD because of the Internet speed, Netflix will determine that and give you the highest quality possible. Whilst, when the buffer rate allows faster transfers and can receive larger amounts of data at a sufficient speed, HD will be automatically enabled.

      Long story short and in layman’s terms, “Internet slow, no HD, but when internet gets faster, yes HD.”

    How do I remove Netflix streaming from a Xbox 360?
    I have netflix and I stream movies to my xbox at my house all the time. See my girlfriend has a xbox as well and we watch a lot of movies so I went and authorized my netflix to her xbox as well as mine. Only problem is her brother fills up my instant movies with a bunch of porn and raunchy movies, is there anyway I can unauthorized that xbox?

      I don’t know if you can unauthorize it but you can definitely block it using the console family settings. That is what I did to keep my 9 year old out of mischief.

    is this download speed good for netflix streaming?
    hi, i have a download speed of 3 Mbps. I stream content from netflix on my 32″ tv and the quality is pretty poor. What i really want is to stream in HD. My next upgrade plan is to 7.1 Mbps. Would that give me enough download speed to stream in HD. should i upgrade? thanks.

      At the newer speed you mention, netflix will allow the HD streaming. You will see 720P HD movies. I think netflix does a speed test and if you can’t do 6Mb then it will only stream SD even thoguh you selected an HD movie.

    How is the picture quality on the samsung hdtv streaming netflix?
    wondering how the quality of the picture is on the new hdtv’s that have the netflix app streaming…is it better than the picture on a ps3 or about the same or what? any feedback would be appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
      If you have a fast enough internet connection (I heard 3.5 Mbps or faster) Netflix streaming HD is very good. I don’t have a ps3, so not sure how that compares, or to other BluRay players. Not all content is HD, but the content that is, is excellent.

      I use 720p for my Samsung player on my 720p 40″ HDTV and 1080p for an LG player on the 32″ LG HDTV i use as a computer monitor.

    Will Lost ever come back to Netflix Streaming Service?
    I watched Lost while it was in the summer of the final season through Netflix Streaming Service. Only Season 5 is on there now. Does anyone know if they plan to bring it back to Streaming with 1 – 4 as well as the final season?

      Man, I’m surprised no one has answered this yet because It’s killing me to know as well. I was cut off just after finishing season 1. Pretty dumb.

      The only way you can tell is by going to the information page of the season of lost you want to see. On the left, just below the dvd/bluray info, you’ll see “streaming info” and an availability date. As of now, there is no streaming info, which means it won’t be available for a while.

    When will droid offer a streaming netflix option?
    I just got the Droid 2 and my boyfriend the Droid x…we both previously had iphones. Does anyone know when droid will get a netflix app that supports video streaming?

      My friend works for netflix, and he said that it wasn’t on the table yet. Maybe by 2013, but not before.

    Why is streaming netflix to PS3 such bad quality?
    I am running it through HDMI on high speed internet and everything but the quality is not very good at all. I have heard that Xbox has good quality when streaming Netflix, is there something I can do to improve it?

      I’m guessing your PS3 is on a wifi connection. Since the PS3 doesn’t have 802.11n, it doesn’t really have the bandwidth for the best quality image over wifi. That along with the 360′s version being better optimized leads to a worse looking PS3 image. Hook up with an Ethernet cable and most of the problem will go away.

    How is the instant streaming selection of movies on Netflix?
    My family is considering getting Netflix (the streaming-only package) and the only thing I’m concerned about is the selection of movies. My dad likes to watch movies, so the deal’s off if he can’t watch semi-decent titles. And also, is Star Wars available for instant streaming? I read that it’s either there or supposed to be coming soon, but is it or not? Thanks for the help.

    • ANSWER:
      star wars is not there yet. I’m not sure when it will be. Instant streaming is good and does have good titles. I have it and my only complaint is that they don’t update with new titles very often. One thing you should know is that all the movies that are instant come from what is available from the STARS and ENCORE channels. So if you have those channels and only want movies, you may not want instant streaming. But they do also have a lot of TV shows.

    what are some good comedies on netflix instant streaming?
    I have seen a lot of them but I was wondering if you know of some really good ones. I dont like old movies though (black and white 50′s 60′s etc). Also I have been watching Lie To Me on netflix and I love it, but I am almost out of episodes. Any shows like it for instant streaming?       First of all, you cannot stream Netflix from a Dish Network DVR. Yes, Netflix does require an internet connection. You can stream it to the TV using a PS3, XBOX 360, or Wii console.     Does windows 7 starter work with online streaming from netflix?
    I am going to buy a new netbook with windows 7 starter. I am aware that windows 7 starter will not play dvds with an external dvd drive, but will it/ does it work with netflix online streaming?

      Windows 7 will not pose any problems for Netflix streaming, the problem you may have is the video card (particularly if it is just an onboard intel) may not be fast enough to display the video well.

    Netflix streaming movies through wii, why are some movies not available?
    I just signed up for Netflix and have been watching movies wirelessly via my Wii. Quite a few movies are showing as “not available”. Why is this? Will these movies become available at some point or will they never be available for streaming (so I have to get them on DVD)?

      netflix is always adding movies to there “instant” list. the ones that are not available are only for mail order but they may at some point be available threw the wii’s instant list.

    debating on getting a 360 or a ps3 but i want to be able to stream netflix. Its just occuring to me that it might buffer or lock up as it does on my laptop in which case it will not be worth it. I have virgin mobile broadband. Will the power of either game system make for a smooth viewing?

      The performance will be the same as it is on your laptop – it’s just displaying on a TV instead of the computer monitor.

    Can I successfully use Netflix streaming?
    I am looking to start using the streaming only option that Netflix has offered up. My friend has had it since they created it so I have used it before and know I really like it. My internet speed is 15mbps download and 8mbps upload. Can I stream the stuff I want in HD without any problems?

      Yes that soundxs about right. One thing Netflix may want to sell you a converter that will stream directly to your TV set. For me this was unnecessary. I have an s-video cord that goes from my pc to my TV and I use the pc speakers as sound. I’ve saved over a hundred dollars doing this.

    Netflix Streaming still possible with weak wireless signal ? what’s the minimum speed ?
    My wireless bluray player is far from the router-G. I am only able to get a weak signal of ~16mb/s. Will this be a problem for streaming Netflix ?

    Do the bluray players have buffer that would isolate it from fluctuation in wi-fi signal strength ?

      Good luck….I just went thru 2 afternoons of trying to get a wireless network to watch netflix.

      I upgraded my service to 3 gb and it works on the laptop but not the tv.

      Called Samsung support and they had me reset the blu ray…It connected once but would not download the updates.

      Finally I bought a 50 foot ethernet cable and laid it on the floor and in 3 minutes the network was connected and I was looking at a movie.

      The wireless works according to reviews but if you have too many walls, doors or concrete in the path, the wireless signal won’t get there. Also, other wireless products you own affect the blu rays network.

      I am glad I went with the ethernet cable because I haven’t had any movies stop running. Can you imagine how mad you would get if the movies stopped or slowed down by using wireless.

    How can I change widescreen ratio to fullscreen ratio on netflix streaming movies?
    Does anyone know a way to eliminate the black bars at the top and bottom of netflix movies? I want to be able to view all of the movies in fullscreen ratio

      I have Netflix and I haven’t found a way to do that. I believe you are stuck with what they give you.

    How can I access Netflix streaming outside of the US?
    I’m in England for the month and I’ve been trying to get video streaming working on my account. I’d like to do it without paying a monthly fee for VPN, and I haven’t found any working proxies. How can I do this without spending money on secure servers? Thanks.
    Netfix might be coming here soon, but I’d like to have it now as I already pay for it!

    • ANSWER:
      There isn’t a failsafe way to do it without creating a proxy or a VPN. However you could try the Tor network. Connect to it and hope someone in the US is letting you use their network. Most likely you will have to go through a few different identities before finding one that works. Hope this helps!

43. QUESTION:
    What speed is best for netflix streaming movies?
    We have 1.5 and that is too slow. I just spoke with netflix customer service and she said they recommend at least 2.4. I looked at our upgrade options at qwest.com and the next one is 7, but they say under it it is best for large files and working at home. The next up is 12 and under that it says best for movies. Anybody have any advice on this?

    • ANSWER:
      I pay for 3.5 but actually only get 2.6 and I watch tv shows and movies and videos all the time without any hangups/slowdowns/pixels. So TRUST ME, 7 would be more than you’d need so that’s the one I would get. You don’t need 12 unless you have 3 or more computers online at the same time.

    Will Nintendo be streaming Netflix for the Wii anytime soon?
    Just curious because I have a PS3 which I am trying the PlayOn trial for just the Netflix streaming and I just think if I have a Wii already that would be able to stream should I even purchase the PlayOn?

      Unfortunately, Microsoft recently revealed that they DO have an exclusivity deal with Netflix, so streaming will be limited to their console for the next few years.

      Go ahead and buy PlayOn, it’s a great service.

      Well, if you have an Xbox or a PS3 you can always transfer the movies to that and watch on your TV.

    I just ordered a LG BD530 blu ray player it says it has netflix i have owned a blu ray player before i just never used the netflix streaming. i dont know if there is something i have to buy to go with it or install something or what.

      You need to get a Netflix account and pay a monthly fee to use Netflix streaming. Go to Netflix.com. I use Netflix streaming thru my Playstation 3 and I’m on a plan that lets me have two DVD’s checked out at a time. I think you can get a free 30 day trial for new customers.

      You will need an Internet connection plugged into your blu ray player too.

    Netflix users: Is Battlestar Galactica (the modern version) available for streaming to a computer?
    Are the Battlestar Galactica episodes that started around 2003 available in Netflix for streaming to a computer?

    I’m in desperate need of a Battlestar Galactica fix but money is really tight so I only want to get Netflix if BG is available for streaming to my computer.

    Also, with the cheaper Netflix packages, can you stream as many movies as you want, one at a time but one right after another?

      Unfortunately Battlestar Galactica starting around 2003 isn’t available for streaming only for the dvds sent to your home.

      Should you decide to join Netflix keep in mind the 4.99 plan only lets you stream 2 hours a month onto your computer. Plans 8.99 and up have unlimited streaming access. You could try the free trial so that you will see what is offered for streaming. There are quite a few seasons of different shows available

    Netflix’s recommendations are perfect for me right now, and I don’t want it to start making recommendations based on her viewing habits intermingled with my own.

    Is there a way she can watch them, but have Netflix completely disavow for rating purposes?

    • ANSWER:
      Netflix gives you the option of rating movies as “Not Interested” or “No Opinion”. I’ve used this feature before and it seems to stop Netflix from using this to make recommendations.
