4. QUESTION:
   Question about Transformers G.1 DVDs?
   In May, 2011 in USA, a brand new DVD box-set of Transformers, Generation 1 is being re-released. I really want to buy it when it’s released.

   However, I still have another DVD box-set of Transformers, Generation 1 that was released several years back…maybe around 2005 or 2006.

   Does anyone know if there are any improvements in picture and sound quality with the newly re-released DVD box-sets of the Transformers, Generation 1 series? Or, are they all exactly the same in picture and sound, but simply re-released with updated packaging?

   Also, what about special features?

   What I am REALLY trying to ask is, when I buy the newly-released DVD box-set of Transformers when it’s released this may, 2011, will the picture and sound quality be EVEN GREATER than original releases? Will the audio sound more crisp and clear and the picture more sharp and updated-looking….that kinda thing?

   Does anyone know….anyone who’s bought several releases of the Transformers, Generation 1 series on DVD box-sets?

   • ANSWER:
     Owning the earlier release, I haven’t really been able to conscience buying them all over again. The 2011 releases by “Shout! Factory” do feature some improvement over the original DVD sets release by “Rhino Animation” several years ago. The most notable of these is in the Season 1 set. In the older, Rhino version of Season 1, the studio masters were used (which featured animation and coloring errors not seen in the broadcast versions of the episodes). The Shout! Factory set corrects several of these. Aside from that, I don’t think there’s a huge difference in between the “old” releases and the “new” ones.

     As far as extras, the “Shout! Factory” releases have the following:

     -A Featurette each on Seasons 1, 2 Part 2, and 3&4 (1 has “The Origins of the Transformers,” 2 has “Voicing the Robots in Disguise,” and 3&4 has “The Autobots, The Decepticons, and the Fans”).

     -Commercials and PSAs (Seasons 1, 2 Part 2, 3&4

     -Episode Scripts

     -Excerpts from the show’s Production Bible

     -Concept Art Galleries

     There definitely seem to be more (and different) extras on these releases, but your mileage may vary as to whether or not they’re worth the “double dip.”

     your new pc will run any game at any resolution…period ! ……..the core i7 950 is one of the fastest consumer processors you can buy and along with a x58 chipset motherboard and 6gb of ddr3 ram you have a awesome basis for a pc
     and with the 64gb solid state drive ( which i presume is the windows boot drive ) and the massive 2tb sata drive for programs and storage this is also excellent
     however the nvidia GTX480 with 1.5gb of vram is a amazingly powerful graphics card and will run not only Shogun 2 Total War but any other game you can buy aswell as future games
     other components including the 750w psu and coolermaster case are the icing on the cake of a allround excellent pc which you should be proud of…..
     and a final word on windows 7 home premium 64bit which is the most stable version of windows to date and a great platform for gaming
     enjoy your new pc..and keep a eye on the fans and cpu fan (e.g keep it clean to avoid overheating and possible problems )

   Pixar’s new film – the bear and the bow – your thoughts?
   One of Pixar’s new films currently in development and scheduled to release in late 2011, the Bear and the Bow’s plot is described here as:

   In Scotland, Merida a member of the royal family, decides to give up her family name for her dream of becoming an archer. Merida makes reckless choices, resulting in the destruction of her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida then struggles to set things right.    It’s both Pixar’s first fairy tale and first film featuring a female protagonist (the latter being a long time in the waiting). What are your thoughts on the upcoming film? Do you think making the first female protagonist a princess (seemingly the only to make a movie about a girl) is a good idea?

   I love Pixar, but I’m a little wary about this one. PIxar’s films so far have all centered around fresh and innovative ideas, but this is neither fresh nor innovative. A rebellious princess is a common fantasy trope, and the story isn’t exactly something we haven’t seen before. But this is only a few sentences of plot, and it’s absolutely ridiculous to make a definitive decision this early in the filmmaking process — I’m hoping Pixar has something amazing up their sleeve, because when you can create a fantasy mostly free of cliche, that’s pretty darn good accomplishment (to say the least). On the other hand, Pixar’s yet to score a miss on any of their films (not including the often mildly criticized Cars), and I’m no pessimist, but something’s gotta slip eventually. Is this going to be the dusty and forgotten PIxar DVD on the shelf?

   Again, your thoughts about the film, please. The most well thought out reply gets best answer. I want to know if anyone else is a teeny bit skeptical.

     It doesn’t sound like the greatest plotline, but like you said, Pixar hasn’t stumbled once yet. Yeah, okay, I didn’t like Cars either, but it wasn’t a complete letdown. They’ve made a robot seem sympathetic, a rat seem adorable and clean, and the concepts of superheroes, talking toys, flying houses, etc. seem entirely feasible. I think if a good team collaborates to make this film it could turn out fantastic and, just as importantly, novel. Also, yay for a female protagonist! I really hope they make her different from all the other stereotypical princess roles – maybe NOT entirely brave and independent? I don’t know.

   Should there be the Bambi 70th Anniversary in 2012/2013?
   Bambi was first released in 1942. Bambi is a great animated movie. The 1st VHS of Bambi is from 1989, which I don’t have, but someone else might have. I have Bambi 55th Anniversary from 1997 and Bmabi Platinum Edition from 2005. There is going to be a Bambi Diamond Edition blu-ray and new 2-Disc DVD in Spring 2011, I don’t think I’m getting the Bambi Diamond Edition, but some of you guys might get it. There should be a Bambi 70th Anniversary Edition in 2013. After Disney puts the Bambi Diamond Edition into the stupid vault in the end of January 2013. Disney will release the Bambi 70th Anniversary Edition blu-ray and another 2-Disc DVD in February 2013. I’m still happy with my copy of the Bambi Platinium Edition DVD from 2005, but I would be looking forward to getting the Bambi 70th Anniversary Edition DVD in 2013.

    Walt Disney first released Bambi in August 1942. The 1st VHS of Bambi was released 1989 (I don’t have the 1989 VHS, but some of you guys might have the 1989 VHS). There was a Bambi 55th Anniversary Edition VHS from 1997( I have the 1997 VHS, even if some of you have a copy of it). I remember the Bambi Platinum Edition from 2005(I still have a copy of it). Disney is going to release a Bambi Diamond Edition blu-ray and new 2-Disc DVD in Spring 2011( I don’t I’m getting the Diamond Edition, but some of you guys might).     which macbook pro model is better?
    first off, i would like to please ask that no one posts silly things such as “GET WINDOWS ITS BETTER” i already have a pc but i need a macbook specifically for college and i just want to know which i should go for. i am debating between two models, both are refurbished.i am not changing my mind, i am not getting a new white macbook for the same price. in any case, ill post the basic specs for each and also provide the links to the apple website for those who desire more information.

    i can’t really decide.. i know the 2011 model has a better processor than the 2010 model, however the 2010 model has a better graphics card than the 2011. i wont be doing any gaming on my macbook as i own a ps3, but i am going into graphic design next year. im just wondering if the 2011 macbook can handle it. i think it could but im not sure. the 2011 model also has a 7 hour battery life versus 10 hours on the 2010 model. so basically the choice would be the 2010 model for me but the fact that the 2011 model has a better processor and is overall newer is hodling me back.

    • ANSWER:
      I’d go with the 2011. I still use a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) and I have absolutely no problem with the graphics card. Keeping up with technology, a good processor outdoes a superior graphics card.

      Besides, if you purchase the 2011 and the AppleCare Protection Plan (recommended), the computer will be covered under warranty for most of your four year college career. (3 years)

    I think that with a recession and a black president rap will come back alive and start talking about meanings of life and stop talking about sex, money, and drugs. I think Lil Wayne and T-pain will drop an album together and it will do extremely well. I also think 50 cent will beef with the last person their is for him to beef with, Eminem. After that he’ll make a lot of money and retire. Oh yeah and I think Female rappers will make a good strong comeback. We are in need of them.

    I think that Beyonce will go on tour and fall off of stage atleast one time.lol Than she will re-release I am…Sasha Fierce with all the unreleased tracks(I’ve heard one unreleased track called “Roc” which is really good. You can hear in youtube) she will also release a DVD of the concert. Than Destinys Child will will gget back together and go into the studio to make a new album but Beyonce will get pregnant and they will have to delay the album until 2011. I also think Mary J. Blige will come out with one more album which will do really well. Rihanna will drop her new album and it will flop than she’ll re-release it and it’ll flop again. Also Rihanna will break up with Chris Brown for personal reasons. Chris Brown however will make a new album which will do extremely well, but Usher will make another album that puts Chris to shame…LOL

    Which is my best option to get a Mac?
    I will soon buy a Mac laptop, but I’m really looking forward if new Macs are coming in soon. I’ve heard rumors about Apple changing features in their Macs and may be released in Spring 2011. Should I wait to see if the new ones are worth buying? I really like the MacBook Air since it’s a simple laptop and easy to take anywhere. The problem is its lack of back-lit keyboard and a CD/DVD reader. I hope I can get updated with this. If the MacBook Air isn’t woth it, I’ll go with the MacBook Pro 13″.

    50th Wedding anniversary Ideas?
    My gpa and gma are going to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next Sept 2011. Some aunts and me are planning a special celebration, Any ideas on what to do or how to do this. We have no ideas! I was thinking like something cute and memorable, like a dvd slide show of pictures of them in the past, re new vowls, but i want to know if there were other cute ideas like releasing doves or butterflies etc. Anythign will help! we are staring at a blank canvas here!

      We had a party at the Knights of Columbus hall. We decorated using the colors of the bridesmaids dresses and flowers. We got helium balloons in those colors, and anchored them inside a painted clay flower pot turned upside down, so the ribbons on the balloons went through the holes. We used tables cloths and napkins in those colors (teal and pink), and had votive candles sitting on little mirrors, both from the dollar store. We serve appetizers which is what my mother wanted. My sister and I made a scrapbook for them in a wedding album. We started with pictures of them as children with their own families, then of them in school and dating, their wedding, us as children, all their siblings, nieces and nephews over the years, our own weddings and our families, pictures of them with the grandchildren and finally all the neighbors we’ve known since we moved there in 1965. Most of our neighbors were the same ones until recently. In the back we had a collage of pictures all sorts of things. My brother-in-law had someone in his art department make a slide show set to the song Memories. Corny, but I didn’t have any better ideas. We had space in the album for the guests to sign and for pictures from the party. I went around and took pictures of everyone there, everyone at the table, couples, families, single ladies together, etc. We had a piano player so that people could sing. My dad was involved in some choirs and other singing groups, and they loved going to piano bars. My dad and his partner played for about 20 minutes. It was a very nice party. It was in 1999, so it may sound a little old fashioned (slide show, for instance…he had it transferred to a video tape later, but even that’s obsolete now).

      For 0 more, get the new one.
      The refurbished one could be something off-lease that has seen a lot of use in the past year (ok, 11 months) and you’d be paying nearly the same price as a new one. That is what I would call a total rip-off…

      BTW, the old one has a dual core i7 processor and the new one most likely has a quad core Sandy Bridge processor as well as 1333 MHz DDR3, so is probably on the order of 50% faster… Oh, and most likely a updated video card as well.

      Like I said, the refurb. is a total rip-off…
