    whsmith dvd rental...never seem to send me my top priority films? Im starting to wonder whether it is worth the £12-13 a month for the DVD rental service?? I have been with them for 3 months now and they never seem to send me any of the top priority films out of my list......infact i dont think they have ever sent me one unless its a really old one. Ok the delivery turnaround is very fast and i understand that there is a lot of demand for the newer titles but it would be nice to get a few of the new ones out of my list occasionallly.     Netflix Streaming played a movie I didnt put in my q, isnt listed on Netflix's website, nor available on DVD? I've been subscribing to Netflix streaming ever since they first offered this service, and this is the first time this has ever happened. One of the movies in my queue is the 1963 Jack Lemmon movie, Under The Yum Yum Tree. I decided to watch it, but instead the 1963 Glenn Ford movie Love Is A Ball played. This Glenn Ford movie has never been listed in my queue. Even more strangely it isnt listed on Netflix's website at all! Not as a DVD for rental, not as a movie for instant streaming. Even more weirder than that, Love Is A Ball is not at all available on DVD anywhere, period. Has anyone else ever had this problem? (I'm not complaining though. I'm more amused by it. Who knows what other movies that arent listed by Netflix and havent been released to DVD on top of that, but are freely available on Netflix streaming under the guise of different movie titles? :-)) Doing a check on a few other movies in my instant streaming queue, the correct movies play.

    What's the difference between a rental DVD and a shop bought DVD of films? Is there any difference? I mean content wise not that one's for renting and one's for buying. I ask this because a rental shop near me sells both pre-owned shop bought DVDs and ex-rental DVDs. The boxes look identical apart from the ex-rental has a bar at the top that tells you it's a rental. The ex-rentals are £1-£6 cheaper than the pre-owned shop bought ones and I wondered whether I would miss anything by buying the ex-rental.

I bought it from a third-party seller named "findprice" It's a good DVD in good condition but on the cover is a big "RENTAL COPY" on the top and on the disk says Lovefilm copy, with a code. I was just checking as I thought maybe they stole it from lovefilm or something. - is it legal?

    streaming movies from websites like netflix? I have for some time been looking into these dvd rental websites, but i dont like the idea of having dvd's being sent through the post. I heard there are websites that you can pay a monthly subscription to have a certain amount of films streamed to your computer, netflix does but is not fully supported in the uk and contacting them will be a hassle as they are USA based. I looked at places like lovefilm and blockbuster but they dont stream movies. Also i will not have my card details entered online anywhere, however safe people may say the internet is, so if you know anywhere where you can stream movies for a monthly cost legally and have the option of buying one of those gift cards you can top up at supermarkets with so much money and you redeem that code online without entering card details that would be great.       I use a website that is exactly what you described. I small monthly fee to stream movies online. However, there is no limit to the amount of streaming movies I can watch. I was really happy when I found it. I cancelled my Netflix subscription and didn't have to worry about sending DVD's in the mail anymore. Plus, this way lets me watch way more movies and TV shows. If you don't want to use credit cards online, I'm sure you can pay with Paypal or make some other arrangement with the company.     How to use a Query in Microsoft Access 2007 to get only the highest 3 values? I'm currently working on a Database for my University assignment, long story short its a DVD/Video rental scenario, and one of the criteria is that one of the Query's must show the 3 most borrowed items. I have a "Times Borrowed" field in the table, and I cant find how to use a Query pick just the top 3 values so I can create a report to display them. Thanks in advance. I've tried using the max() function but it seems to not really give the result I'm after.

      I'm thinking this should work: SELECT TOP 3 Rentals.[Times Borrowed] FROM Rentals ORDER BY Rentals.[Times Borrowed]; Of course, I don't know your table name - so you'll have to replace /Rentals/ with the name of your table storing DVD/Video rentals.

    Do you think Blu Ray is a bit of a flop currently? I do, my wife bought one, and it is actually hard to spot the quality difference between bluRay and DVD, often she rents a DVD and I honestly can't tell if it is DVD or not without looking at the box. Rental requests are slow to turn up if I tick BluRay, so sometimes I just order DVD at no cost saving. I mean HurtLocker is top of my list for ages on BluRay. It was sure as hell easy to see the difference between tape and DVD. I think it is a pointless technical upgrade foisted on the consumer before the upgrade was big enough. I mean DVD took off big time in the 2000s and VHS died in a bout 2 years, and then they were back a few years later saying 'but this you mugs, its better' and the consumer is saying 'get lost we'll stick with DVD thanks. Do you think they'll keep flogging a dead horse, or is it like laser disks? They never took off. Matt - DVD to VHS wasn't just about resolution, it was about analogue to digital. VHS suffered from all sorts of picture defects such as colour bleed and noise. DVD beats VHS in picture and sound reproduction.
