     I travel all over the world on business. I always use my Personal VPN, http://www.surfbouncer.com to be able to keep up with the shows. It gives me a USA IP address for Hulu and the networks. I can also watch BBC iPlayer outside of the UK on the UK connection and CTV out of Canada using the Canadian connection.

   I am trying to watch TV shows souch as House or Prison Break on my ipod touch. Keep in mind that im not trying to watch live television just prerecorded shows. When I attempt to use FOX’s website to view their shows a blue box with a question mark comes up and no video plays. Is there something I am missing? Thanks for the help.

     The reason that that comes up is because the video needs Adobe flash Player. This is also found in web sites that let you play Flash player games.

     The iTouch does not have that ability (unless you jailbreak it and some how find a way to download the flash player)

     Maybe when Apple releases the new iPhone/iTouch SDK (i think it will be out around March) which will let 3rd party applications to run on the iPhone/iTouch, you will be able to view streaming video.

      You can get hulu plus but it costs .99 a month which is kind of pricey (in my opinion), but if you are willing to pay its a good option to watch shows.

      Another option is just buy an itunes subscription to the show you want, but that also costs money.

      I think you are operating under a misconception. You are downloading the movies! You are distinguishing methods in which data is transmitted, but in either case, data is being transmitted (downloaded) to your computer. In any event, the clearest answer is that if they do not have rights to transmit the data to you, you could potentially be violating copyright law, and you could be held civil or criminally liable.

      Hey, I had the exact same problem as you up until yesterday, and now I’ve found a site that I can watch loads of TV shows, movies and, best of all, lots of horror flicks.
      Go to http://tvshack.cc/ and just search what you want.
      In my experience, all the movies I watch are hosted by youku.com, the Chinese response to YouTube, and that website is only in chinese, but don’t be put off, because the movies are in English and good quality, usually with chinese subtitles.

      This issue has nothing to do with your player; you’re probably all up to date. The problem is really caused by a number of factors. It could be your internet connection, as you need to have a fast one to watch TV shows online. Or it could be your computer itself. Check how much RAM you have and how much free disk space you have. If either of those is low on free space (such as only 256 MB of ram, or only 800 MB free disk space) try upgrading the ram, or freeing space on your hard drive.

      I think also BBC/iplayer can only be viewed in the UK.
      The BBC say that people in the UK who have an ISP that “falls” outside the UK but provides UK internet cannot use BBC/iplayer.

      I think the bottom line is the internet can detect what country you live in and controls what site content you can use.

      There may be away around this, see what other answers come up to help you.
